Peace & Love

Peace-&-Love, a North Carolina based band is quickly gaining recognition for its intense musical energy, versatile vocals, sensational style and driving rhythms. Peace-&-Love offers only an experience that has to be shared. They allow the audience to become absorbed by their energy and style. Peace-&-Love is a seven peace outfit with guitar, sax, bass, keyboards, drums, and outstanding vocals. These musicians have been brought together to do one thing--PERFORM FOR YOU!
Rudi G. Meeks (bass & back vocals), is an inspiration instead of an aspiring performer. His life paints a portrait we can only admire but Rudi knows his beginnings. As a teenager, Rudi was one of the founders of the Voltage Brothers. Rudi's talent contributed to three albums with the group and collaboration on their original work. Rudi has performed with such talents as Teddy Pendergrass, The O'Jays, Gladys Knight, and many others. Rudi took on many responsibilities while he was with Voltage from arranging sets to the overall managing of the band. Rudi is a lover of all styles of music and it shows with each performance. As a performer, Rudi gives the audience what they want to see and hear.
Jody Bo Gholson (vocals), was born in Hampton Roads, Virginia. As a child his first experience with music was from the church choir. The church taught him diversity and strength. Jody joined the high school choir, which allowed him to experiment with all types of music styles. Jody has been performing professionally since 1991, as a singer and dancer. As Jody sings you can see how he allows the music to carry him.
Gary Baker (guitar & back vocals) holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Winthrop University. Gary performed with the Winthrop University Jazz Band, Fusion Band, and Midi Lab Band. In addition to performing solo Gary also was an instructor. Gary has performed with various bands allowing him to incorporate many different styles in his musical work.
Jana Maria Simpson (vocals), hails from North Carolina, where she is majoring in psychology at Davidson College. At an early age she became interested in music by taking tap, ballet, jazz, piano, and chorus. She quickly became known for her versatility to perform songs from such talented singers as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Barbara Streisand and others. She also performed with a Top-40's musical show named "Rock the House" in 1994. Jana's style and charismatic approach make her noticed.
Gregory Jones (drummer), was born in Syracuse, New York, and now makes his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gregg left home at an early age to pursue his dream of playing drums, and continues to pursue that dream here in Charlotte, providing the "heartbeat" of Peace-&-Love. Gregg has played with a variety of bands, such as The Tramps, The Commodores, Three Dog Night, The Drifters, and the Chairmen of the Board, traveling extensively over the U.S., Canada, and Europe. He was also the original drummer and co-founder of another popular Charlotte band, Colorblind.
Robert Orazi (keyboard & back vocals), attended Burklee College of music and Craig Najjar School of Music. Robert has worked with various projects over the years expanding his knowledge in all types of music. His experiences range from writing and producing commercials to performing solo.
Stephen Todd (saxophone), a native of Concord, North Carolina, began playing the saxophone at the age of thirteen. Three years later, he began to perform for an audience, and that's when the love of music came to life. Stephen has most recently toured with the gospel play "Lord, Save My Children From Destruction." He has in addition to performing live, recorded with Jem Productions, a recording studio of Concord, North Carolina. Stephen hopes to one day become a national recording artist.
