Blankety Blank
Storming outta Atlanta, GA, and taking their kick- ass live show to the people is what is making Blankety Blank a household name. Well, at least in their own homes or apartments. Actually, one guy lives in his car but that wouldn't sound good on this bio. Here's the deal: If you want your party to be remembered as having THE BEST BAND, look no further! BB explodes onto the stage performing cover songs by Weezer, Sublime, Blur, Van Halen, Van Morrison, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynrd, The Cure, White Stripes, Original songs, and oh so much more! Fans like Dre 3000 of Outkast, John Mayer, Cowboy Mouth, Barenaked Ladies, Kid Rock, and others have come to see BB rock the faces off unsuspecting crowds. The release of the much anticipated Blankety Blank CD, "Is This Your Pill?" has left audiences craving their unique sound and dynamic stage presence. BB's powerful and edgy sound is evident in their hits "#1 Fan" and "Supermodel", while their ability to allow you to mellow out comes through on the ballad "Flow". The INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION gave "Twisting the Knife" a SEMI-FINALIST award that helped propel the CD into the international spotlight. Blankety Blank's song, "Unhappy Hour," (from the "Something To Snack On" EP), brought home ROCK FINALIST AWARD from The JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING COMPETITION in 2003. MTV & VH1 have used several BB songs on the air & continue to do so every few months. Greg Roth - Better known as Roth, the lead singer hails from New York City and started his music career fronting a five-man vocal group while attending N.Y.U. As an 18 year old freshman, he found himself opening for such diverse acts as The Ramones, The Smithereens, and later, Harry Connick, Jr at the Greenwich Village jazz club Knickerbockers. He has played with or opened for Lenny Kravitz, John Mayer, Barenaked Ladies, Cowboy Mouth, Max Roach, Blondie, Patterson Hood of Drive By Truckers, Shawn Mullins, Vigilantes of Love, Billy Pilgrim, Asylyn, etc... William McNeil - Mississippi-born McNeil is one of Atlanta's finest guitarists. A master creator of melodically-bold riffs, with the ability to go from aggressive howls to sugary sweet tones, makes him a freak of nature. McNeil is also an accomplished pianist, drummer, bassist and singer! His vocal prowess is the foundation to the much-touted harmonies that everyone raves about. Gregg Shapiro - Bass player Gregg Shapiro honed his chops playing in various bands in New York City & Atlanta, GA, prior to join up with Blankety Blank. Shapiro's uniquely melodic and groove-oriented style has made him a sought-after studio performer. He provides backup vocals for BLANKETY BLANK and is also a gifted songwriter. Leirrie Valentin - Blankety Blank's newest member brings thunderous rhythmic grooves and solid backbeats to every song. He's so new, we really don't know much about him. Oh, well actually, he snores at night and he likes Snicker Bars.
